DO YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOUR SKIN CARE IS MADE FROM?
Food based skin care...what does that really mean? You'll see it all over our website, on literature, business cards, and even our product labels. I've never stopped to consider that many of our customers don't know what that means, or why it's even important when it comes to their products. In this blog post I hope to clarify specifically what that means and how it's helpful to your skin and body.
Sometimes the clearest way to demonstrate a point is with an example. A woman approached me recently at an event and asked if I had a serum with vitamin C. I explained yes, one serum in particular had high amounts of naturally occurring vitamin C from Rosehip Seed Oil (Adios Wrinkles). She continued to ask, "but does it have vitamin C?"
It's my belief that many people have been lead to believe that a vitamin, supplement or even vitamins in skin care are more effective if they were produced in a laboratory. How would your body respond to that belief system? Because the whole truth about most of the conventional vitamins, minerals and supplements on the shelves is that they are synthetic chemical isolates. Our bodies understand and seek nourishment from whole food sources. Synthetic chemical isolated forms of nutrients lack the full spectrum of nature’s benefits and, frankly, we prefer the real thing to a synthetic version of the real thing. Who wouldn’t? Our bodies, including our skin (it's an organ, the largest one in fact) can identify and make nutrients bio available when they are communicated in a language they understand and not from isolated, artificial ingredients.
In short, your body and skin can more easily and fully use nutrition that comes in the form of food. Food that is free of harmful pesticides, genetically modified ingredients, artificial ingredients, dyes, preservatives, and colorants, none of which are in any of our skin care products. Since your skin is an organ, it too will benefit the most from food that feeds it. This not only applies to ingredients, like vitamin C for aging skin, but other key nutrients found in each of our products for dry skin, oily skin, normal, and skin that suffers from conditions such as sun damaged, wrinkles, rosacea, acne, dermatitis, psoriasis and more!
The concept behind Bare Naked Botanicals' products is that there are key ingredients from a food based source which are beneficial in assisting the skin and ultimately the body in maintaining optimal health. Our bodies know precisely how to best use the ingredients and nutrients in foods. The same goes for our skin. Feed it, but only good stuff! Using any of our food based products are sure to feed your skin with nature created foods for optimal skin health.
